Crypto options beyond Deribit: the full universe
Data as of 26.09.2026 ≈ 17:00 UTC (public exchange APIs; Cboe option chains same day) unless another date is given next to a figure.
Verdict.
- There are few new coins outside Deribit, and they're all short-dated: BNB, DOGE, ADA, LTC, SUI, MNT, ZEC and a handful of small tokens on Derive. Longest tenor is 25.12.2026, ZEC to 26.03.2027. Beyond coins there's gold, silver and oil: Bybit, Binance, OKX, Gate, Derive.
- What Deribit really lacks is longer tenor and a stronger payout. Options on spot ETFs (IBIT, ETHA, BSOL) and on crypto equities (MSTR, COIN and others) run to 19.01.2029; they're guaranteed by the OCC clearing house and accessed via a broker with US exchange access. Options on the XRP and DOGE ETFs run to 19.03.2027.
- Venues in short: if you need a tenor longer than Deribit's or the safest payout — ETF options via a broker; BNB, DOGE, gold — Binance or Bybit, with limits; Aevo, Delta India and small DeFi protocols — no.
What it is
A complete list of options on crypto assets, commodities and crypto wrappers that Deribit doesn't list. For each: where it trades, to what date, and whether the payout can be trusted. Liquidity gets one word: for a buyer who holds to expiry, what matters is getting paid, not being able to exit quickly.
Already on Deribit, and therefore excluded (Deribit public/get_instruments, 26.09.2026):
- BTC and ETH — to 24.09.2027, inverse and USDC-linear;
- SOL, XRP, HYPE, AVAX, TRX — USDC-linear only, to 25.12.2026.
The same underlyings on other venues made the table only where the tenor is materially longer or the wrapper is different.

The key finding isn't a coin, it's the wrapper. An option on IBIT, ETHA or BSOL is the same bet on BTC, ETH or SOL, but running to 19.01.2029 instead of 24.09.2027 (BTC/ETH) and 25.12.2026 (SOL) on Deribit. The payout is guaranteed by the OCC, the US exchanges' clearing house, so a single venue failing doesn't zero it. The cost: trading only during US market hours (while crypto moves overnight and at weekends), the ETF's expense ratio baked into the share price, and delivery in ETF shares rather than coins.
Alts outside Deribit are short and thin. No crypto exchange lists BNB, DOGE, ADA, LTC, SUI or MNT options beyond 25.12.2026. BNB on Binance runs only to 30.10.2026 with $23K of daily turnover. For a hold-to-expiry buyer liquidity isn't the criterion, but a short tenor turns the trade into a 1–3 month lottery ticket rather than a position.

What would break it, and by how much
- "The crypto exchange didn't pay." Class precedent: FTX, 11.2022. For an option bought on Binance, Bybit, OKX or Gate, the worst case is losing the whole premium and any gain, regardless of the market. Check by 31.12.2026: Gate and Bybit proof of reserves ≥ 100% at a recent date; below that, the rating is withdrawn.
- "The wrapper doesn't track the asset." An ETF option moves with the share, and the share carries a fee and trades US hours only. Check by 31.10.2026: BSOL's closing deviation from SOL × coins per share ≤ 1%; wider, and the wrapper's tenor costs more than it looks.
- "The series is listed, but there's no market" (Derive, HYPE 25.06.2027): no one to buy from. Check by 26.10.2026: are there two-sided quotes on HYPE-25JUN27?
Forecast (checked 31.10.2026): the longest expiry on SOL ETF options (BSOL) will be at least 12 months beyond the longest SOL expiry on any crypto exchange — Deribit, Derive, Gate, Bybit, Binance, OKX. A miss would refute the main finding: "long tenor exists only in the wrapper, via a broker".
What we don't know
No instrument for it:
- tax treatment — depends on the buyer's residency;
- the last listed date of CME SOL/XRP series;
- whether long CBTX series are currently listed;
- Derive's real volumes (self-reported figures diverge from DefiLlama);
- citizenship and residency restrictions at each exchange individually.
Nobody knows:
- whether crypto exchanges will list longer alt series (Deribit follows its "4 months 22 days" rule, the rest don't publish theirs);
- whether options on HYPE or BNB ETFs will appear.
Bottom line
For long-dated exposure to BTC, ETH or SOL, the longest tenor and the safest payout sit in ETF options cleared by the OCC. Crypto exchanges offer a wider set of coins, but shorter series and counterparty risk. The forecast above is checked on 31.10.2026.
